Veteran Nollywood actor Ernest Asuzu is dead.
The actor died on Tuesday after he suddenly slumped.
President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas who confirmed to Channels Television said Asuzu was rushed to the hospital after he slumped but died before they got to the hospital.
“Yes, it is confirmed. I have reached out to his wife. He has been battling with various health challenges like blood pressure. But some kind-hearted Nigerians helped in the past and he was treated.
“So, he has been hale and hearty. But suddenly, yesterday he just fainted,” Rollas explained.
Before his death, the actor battled with health challenges including stroke which kept him out of the limelight.
Popularly described as El-cream, Asuzu began his acting career in the ’90s and rose to prominence after he starred in the 1997 Nollywood classic, ‘Rituals’.
He is also known as one of the bad boys of Nollywood for playing the roles of a bad boy, a hitman in movies.
He also ventured into music in recent years and released an album titled ‘The Truth’ in 2020.
