Nigeria has officially commenced the export of locally manufactured solar panels to Ghana, marking a significant milestone in the country’s renewable energy and industrial expansion efforts. Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, announced the development during a press briefing in Abuja on October 29, 2025.
Adelabu emphasized that the export initiative is part of Nigeria’s broader strategy to become a regional hub for clean energy solutions. The solar panels, produced by Nigerianow — a local energy technology firm — meet international standards and are expected to support Ghana’s energy diversification goals.

“This is a testament to Nigeria’s growing capacity in renewable energy manufacturing and our commitment to regional energy cooperation,” Adelabu stated.
The move is expected to boost Nigeria’s non-oil exports, create jobs in the clean tech sector, and strengthen bilateral ties between Nigeria and Ghana.
