Nigerian senator and businessman, Ned Nwoko, has sparked conversation online after saying he feels sorry for men who have only one wife. The lawmaker, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, made the statement while explaining his views on marriage and polygamy.
According to Nwoko, having multiple wives brings balance and stability to a man’s life. Using an analogy, he said: “Just imagine telling you to stand on one leg, you know how difficult it is. But to stand on two, three, four is much more balanced. So I feel sorry for those who have one wife because it’s difficult to stand on one leg.”

He further noted that his belief in polygamy is rooted in cultural and biblical principles, citing the Old Testament as his reference point. Nwoko, who is married to popular actress Regina Daniels and other wives, added that he has no regrets about choosing a polygamous lifestyle and would make the same decision again if given the chance.
His remarks have since stirred mixed reactions across social media, with some Nigerians supporting his traditional view of marriage, while others criticized his statement as outdated and dismissive of monogamous relationships.
