NANS Slams Bauchi Governor’s Son Over Criticism of Seyi Tinubu.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has criticized Shamsudeen Bala Mohammed, son of the Bauchi State governor, for his comments against Seyi Tinubu’s youth empowerment initiatives.

Shamsudeen had reportedly called on Seyi Tinubu to focus on job creation rather than distributing food to youths in Bauchi under the Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE) program. His remarks sparked backlash from NANS, with the association’s Senate President, Usman Nagwaza, accusing him of attempting to shift government responsibilities onto private individuals.

Nagwaza questioned how someone benefiting from his father’s position could criticize an initiative aimed at supporting young people. He challenged the Bauchi State government to showcase its own efforts in job creation and ICT development instead of attacking a philanthropic project.

He further stated that Seyi Tinubu, as a private citizen, should not be held responsible for unemployment in Bauchi, stressing that such issues are the duty of the government.

NANS urged Seyi Tinubu to remain focused on his mission despite criticisms, while also calling on government officials to take responsibility for youth empowerment rather than deflecting blame.
