Popular Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, has once again spoken publicly about the circumstances surrounding the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. In a video released on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, Marley strongly denied long-standing allegations linking him to the tragic incident.
The Marlian Records boss insisted that he neither bullied nor harmed Mohbad, stressing that he was outside Nigeria at the time of the singer’s death. “I didn’t bully Mohbad, I didn’t kill Mohbad. I wasn’t even in the country when he died,” Marley declared, describing the accusations against him as baseless and damaging.
Speaking further, Marley argued that those who were with Mohbad in the final 24 to 48 hours of his life should have been the ones arrested and interrogated by the police. According to him, the focus on him and his record label diverted attention from the real circumstances leading to Mohbad’s untimely passing.
The singer also touched on Mohbad’s struggles with contracts and royalties, insisting that the issues were business-related disagreements rather than personal conflicts. He maintained that, despite their fallout, he had no ill will toward the late artist and wished justice and truth to prevail.
