A Nigerian lady has sparked an online debate after sharing her unpleasant dining experience at the upscale Lagos-based restaurant, ‘MyFoodbyHilda,’ owned by celebrity chef Hilda Baci. Despite her enthusiasm as a fan of Hilda’s culinary skills, the lady’s excitement turned into disappointment as she ended up with diarrhea after spending a whopping N58,000 on a meal.

In a video documenting her visit, the lady narrated how she, along with her friend and her friend’s husband, decided to treat themselves to some delicacies at Hilda Baci’s renowned restaurant. According to her, the ambiance and service were top-notch, and the food, which included native rice and moimoi, tasted good. She even rated the meal a 7 out of 10.

However, the following day took a turn for the worse when she experienced severe diarrhea, a condition that also affected her friend’s husband. The lady attributed their discomfort to the meal they had at the restaurant, expressing her disappointment despite being a long-time admirer of Hilda Baci’s works.

In her own words, “We spent N58k at Hilda Baci’s restaurant and then got diarrhea. I have been so excited as a big fan of Hilda’s works and ethics. So my friend and I went to her new place, it’s so well put together and her members of staff are fantastic. It’s a bit pricey for fast food which I considered it to be, but it is not ridiculously overpriced. The food tastes good and I will give them an overall 7/10 for that and their packs are quite firm. I actually like the taste of their native rice and how it contains snails, eggs, and pieces of fish. Unfortunately, the day after I ate it, I got diarrhea and that was all I ate all day.”

The video has since gone viral, prompting mixed reactions from the public. Some viewers sympathized with her ordeal, while others questioned the hygiene standards of the restaurant. Hilda Baci’s management is yet to respond to the allegations.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining stringent hygiene practices in the food industry to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
