Veteran Actress Jumoke George Cries Out: “I’ve Been Homeless and Sick for Six Years”.

Veteran Nollywood actress Jumoke George has made a heartfelt plea for assistance, revealing that she has been homeless and battling serious health issues for the past six years. In an emotional interview on the “Talk to B” show hosted by fellow actress Biola Bayo, George disclosed that she currently resides in a church, relying on the kindness of the congregation for shelter and sustenance. She expressed her desperation, stating that she is in constant pain and requires urgent medical tests for her brain and heart, which she cannot afford.

George also shared the distressing news that her first child, Adeola, has been missing for the past four years. Despite her own health challenges, she has been caring for her grandchildren in Adeola’s absence. The actress recounted a brief phone call from her daughter, during which Adeola asked for forgiveness but did not disclose her whereabouts. This ongoing situation has added to George’s emotional and financial burdens.

The actress revealed that she has incurred significant debt, borrowing up to ₦2 million to cover medical expenses and basic needs. She emphasized that she has not been able to work consistently due to her health, and the lack of income has made it impossible to secure stable housing. George’s candid revelations have sparked concern among fans and colleagues, prompting discussions about the welfare of veteran actors in the Nigerian film industry.

In response to her plea, members of the public and fellow actors have expressed support and called for collective action to assist George. Many have taken to social media to raise awareness of her situation, urging industry stakeholders and charitable organizations to provide the necessary aid. George’s story highlights the broader issue of inadequate support systems for aging entertainers facing health and financial crises.
