JAMB Releases Rescheduled UTME Results as 71% Score Below 200.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), revealing that approximately 71% of candidates scored below 200 out of a possible 400 marks. This outcome has raised concerns about the overall performance of candidates in the examination.

The rescheduled UTME was conducted for 379,997 candidates whose initial results were compromised due to technical glitches at 157 centres in Lagos State and the South-East region. Out of these, 336,845 candidates were eventually rescheduled, while 21,082 were absent from the examination .

JAMB has also announced that candidates who missed either the main or rescheduled UTME will have the opportunity to participate in a mop-up examination. Specifically, 71,701 candidates missed the initial UTME, and 21,082 were absent during the rescheduled UTME, making a total of 92,783 candidates eligible for the resit .

The board emphasized that all results are now released, except for those of candidates involved in examination infractions and those slated for mop-up examinations. Candidates affected by result withdrawals are being notified through text messages on their registered lines, profiles, and emails .

JAMB has also highlighted the involvement of some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres and tutorial centres in examination malpractices, leading to the blacklisting of implicated centres and the prosecution of complicit individuals. The board urges all stakeholders to uphold the integrity of the examination process to ensure fair and credible assessments for all candidates .

Candidates can check their results by sending “RESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number they used for registration. They will receive an SMS with their score details. Candidates do not need to visit any CBT centre or cybercafé to check their results .

This development underscores the need for continuous improvement in the examination process to ensure fairness and accuracy in assessing candidates’ performance.
