Igboho Challenges Shettima Over Criticism of Kemi Badenoch.

Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, known as Sunday Igboho, has urged President Bola Tinubu to restrain Vice President Kashim Shettima from further criticizing Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the British Conservative Party. This appeal follows Shettima’s reproach of Badenoch for her candid remarks on Nigeria’s corruption and her emphasis on her Yoruba heritage.

In a statement released on Sunday, Igboho defended Badenoch’s right to express her views on the systemic corruption hindering Nigeria’s development. He emphasized that highlighting such issues should not attract condemnation from high-ranking officials.

Igboho drew parallels to the previous administration, noting that during President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure, criticisms against the Fulani ethnic group were met with severe repercussions. He recounted his own experiences of persecution for opposing the activities of Fulani herdsmen, which included a raid on his residence resulting in fatalities and arrests.

He further criticized the current administration for neglecting pressing national issues such as economic hardship, poverty, and insecurity. Igboho argued that instead of addressing these challenges, the Vice President is diverting attention by attacking Badenoch for her honest observations about Nigeria’s state of affairs.

Igboho concluded by urging President Tinubu to direct Vice President Shettima to focus on his official duties and desist from engaging in unnecessary verbal disputes. He stressed the importance of prioritizing the nation’s challenges over personal affronts to individuals expressing their perspectives on Nigeria’s socio-political issues.
