The Federal Government of Nigeria has proposed over ₦41 billion in the 2026 national budget for the renovation, furnishing, and equipping of 109 Nigerian foreign missions worldwide.
According to officials, the allocation is aimed at improving the image and operational efficiency of Nigeria’s diplomatic outposts. The government noted that many missions are in need of urgent upgrades to meet international standards and effectively represent the country abroad.
This move is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s foreign relations, enhance service delivery to citizens overseas, and project a more positive national image globally.
