‘Family Doesn’t Steal From You’ — Peter Okoye Says After Testifying Against Brother In Court

The spotlight is back on the iconic P-Square duo, Peter and Paul Okoye, but this time not for their music. The brothers are embroiled in a high-profile legal feud over allegations of fraud and betrayal that could shake the foundation of their legendary status.

Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, recently testified against their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, in a Federal High Court case in Lagos. Jude faces a seven-count charge of money laundering involving over ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59, according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

During his testimony, Peter accused Jude of secretly incorporating a new company, Northside Music Ltd, in his wife’s name to divert royalties originally meant for P-Square’s Northside Entertainment Ltd. This revelation comes years after the infamous split of P-Square in 2017, marking a bitter fallout among the brothers.

Peter’s testimony highlights over two decades of alleged manipulation and betrayal within the family, which he claims nearly cost him his mental health. He shared his struggles publicly, stating that toxic family ties shouldn’t drain or discriminate. Meanwhile, Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, has defended Jude and accused Peter of masterminding the legal troubles.

This ongoing feud raises questions about trust and loyalty in family relationships, especially in high-stakes business dynamics. While fans remain hopeful for reconciliation, the trial has been adjourned to June 2025 for further proceedings.
