The Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State was razed today, October 21, 2025, by unknown hoodlums suspected to be political thugs. The attack occurred overnight at the party’s office located along Basiri Road in Ado Ekiti, ahead of the scheduled inauguration of the state executive council.
According to eyewitnesses and party officials, the assailants destroyed parts of the building and thousands of plastic chairs, including a 1,000-capacity canopy and another 150-capacity canopy. Videos posted on the ADC’s official social media pages show the extent of the damage.
The party condemned the act, describing it as a cowardly attempt to derail its growing influence in the state. In a statement, ADC leaders vowed that the incident would not deter their momentum or unity.
Security agencies have been called upon to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice, while party loyalists gathered at the scene awaiting the arrival of national officers for the planned Reconfiguration and Affirmation Ceremony.
