The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has re-arraigned former National Security Adviser Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), former Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) General Manager Aminu Baba-Kusa, and two companies—Acacia Holdings Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited—before Justice Charles Agbaza of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja.
The defendants face a 32-count amended charge involving alleged misappropriation of N33.2 billion designated for arms procurement. These charges encompass criminal breach of trust, dishonest release, and receiving of funds.
This re-arraignment follows their initial arraignment in December 2015 and subsequent legal proceedings. The case had experienced delays, partly due to Dasuki’s prolonged detention by the Department of State Services (DSS) despite multiple court orders for his release.
The court has scheduled the commencement of trial proceedings, with both prosecution and defense teams preparing for the presentation of evidence and arguments. The defendants have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
