The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the arrest of notorious cocaine kingpin Reginald Peter Chidiebere, who had been on the run for 13 years.
According to officials, Chidiebere was captured during a major operation in Imo State, where agents also uncovered a secret drug laboratory linked to his network. The bust marks one of the most significant victories in Nigeria’s fight against narcotics trafficking, dismantling a syndicate that had evaded law enforcement for over a decade.
NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Retd.) praised the operation, noting that it sends a strong message to drug cartels that Nigeria will not tolerate criminal enterprises undermining public health and security.
The arrest has sparked widespread reactions, with many Nigerians commending the agency’s persistence and calling for tougher measures against drug trafficking across the country.
