The Federal Ministry of Education, under Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa, has directed that all teachers in public and private secondary schools must be fully registered and licensed by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
The move is aimed at eliminating unqualified teachers from classrooms nationwide and ensuring that only certified professionals are entrusted with educating Nigerian students.
Officials stressed that compliance will be strictly enforced, with sanctions for schools and individuals who fail to meet the requirement. Education stakeholders have welcomed the directive, noting that it will improve teaching standards and restore confidence in Nigeria’s education system.
