The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a sweeping ban on cash transactions across all its operations nationwide, effective February 29, 2026.
The move is in compliance with the Federal Government’s cashless policy, aimed at promoting transparency, curbing corruption, and enhancing efficiency in financial dealings. FAAN stated that passengers and stakeholders must now conduct all payments — including airport services, parking, and other charges — through electronic channels only.
