The Benue State Government has officially confirmed the discovery of gold and aluminium deposits in Kwande Local Government Area and surrounding riverine regions. This revelation marks a significant milestone in the state’s push toward mineral resource development and economic diversification.
Governor Hyacinth Alia disclosed the findings during a press briefing, stating that geological surveys conducted in recent months revealed commercially viable quantities of the minerals. The government is now exploring partnerships with private investors and federal agencies to begin responsible extraction and processing.
The discovery is expected to:
