Early Life & Calling a Homecoming:

Aderonke Adebanjo spent a significant part of her early adulthood abroad, where she initially pursued pre-med studies for two years, then transitioned to roles in human resources and community research. However, she found these pursuits unfulfilling. Driven by a strong pull to follow her true passion, she returned to Nigeria in 2008, about ten years after leaving, for what she described as a self-discovery expedition.

Entry into Media & Dual Roles at Smooth 98.1 FM:

Upon her return, Aderonke secured a spot as co-presenter on a reality TV show titled The Debaters. She then went on to join Smooth 98.1 FM, Nigeria’s first digital radio station, where she performs dual roles: an On-Air Personality (OAP) and a Branding & Marketing Executive. Among her hosting duties is the lifestyle radio show Breakfast in Bed, which airs Saturday mornings from 7 am–10 am.

The Love Chest: Love Advocate & Multimedia Creator:

Aderonke is widely known as “The Love Activist” or “Love Doctor.” She founded The Love Chest, a multimedia platform, comprising a YouTube vlog, podcast, articles, and TV content, dedicated to exploring all dimensions of love and relationships. On this platform, she offers thoughtful, insightful perspectives, aiming to empower others with the right mindset and knowledge to find and nurture true love.

Musical Ambitions:

Aside from her media career, Aderonke is also musically inclined. She released a self-written single titled “You Amaze Me”, produced by Mosa (noted for producing TY Bello’s “Greenland” album). Her musical style leans toward inspirational lyrics with a house music influence.

Beauty, Identity & Lifestyle:

Aderonke is known for her unapologetic expression of natural beauty. Since 2004, she’s been embracing her 4C natural hair, a journey she began while living in Chicago. Though hair texture and climate changes after moving back to Nigeria presented new experiences, she now embraces natural styles and routines with pride and care.
